Medical Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure using a spray of microcrystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells and encourages the production of a new underlying layer of skin cells with higher levels of collagen and elastin, which further improves your skin’s appearance.
During a treatment a stream of tiny aluminium oxide crystals are fired through a hand piece that is placed against the skin. These dermabrasion crystals exfoliate the skin, and the mild suction created by the microdermabrasion system removes the skin debris and crystals.
Microdermabrasion is much gentler than dermabrasion. Dermabrasion is used to treat deeper facial lines, extreme sun damage, and deep scars.

What happens after Medical Microdermabrasion?
After your session, your daily routine does not need to be changed in any way. The treated area may be slightly redder in colour than usual but this is normal and fades very quickly. Visible improvement will come after as few as 4 treatments, and we advise using sunscreen during this time in order to protect your fresh new skin.
Is Medical Microdermabrasion the right treatment for me?
Medical Microdermabrasion can be used to improve a wide range of skin conditions – including fine lines, acne, age spots, enlarged pores, dry and flaky skin, pigmentation, sun damage, face and body peeling.
Is there an age limit on Microdermabrasion?
People of all ages may enjoy the benefits.
May I go out in the sun after treatment?
We will advise that you should not sunbathe, or over expose your skin in the sun immediately after treatment. A broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen must be worn for 6 weeks post treatment. Aftercare advice will be given to you before you leave the clinic, so you will know how to take care of your skin.
May I have Microdermabrasion treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. We do not treat pregnant or lactating women due to the fact that studies have never been performed on pregnant or lactating women and there are hormonal changes that may increase the complication profile.
Does Microdermabrasion hurt?
No Microdermabrasion is painless and is also very popular with men.
Immediately after the treatment your face will be slightly red. This will disappear the same day, and can be covered up using our mineral makeup.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes. Microdermabrasion is safe when used professionally. Our aestheticians and nurses are highly trained and experienced, and take extra care to look after you, and your skin. Microdermabrasion is a low risk treatment suitable for most skin types, with minimal irritation, redness and downtime.
How does Medical Microdermabrasion work?
Medical Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure in which the stratum corneum (the outermost surface of the skin) is partially or completely removed by light abrasion. The treatment is useful to brighten the complexion of your skin and for the treatment of sun damage, superficial lines, acne prone skin, blemished skin, dull skin and stretch marks.
